NEW LASER TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED

Canadian medical scientists have developed a laser technology that mimics the proteinpatterns surrounding cells in vivo. Resea rchers say the new technology could lead to greatadvances in neuroscience.

To illustrate the precision of the 'protein patterning technique', the team reproduceda painting in the miniature dimension of only 200 microns wide (about the thickness of two hairs). The technology was also used to replicate the brain's complex cellular environment.

Scientists say this technology can very well encourage and guide the growth of nerve cells. This system can essentially fabricate complex methods to grow cells, and is very relevant toneuroscience and immunology research.

New Magnetic Propulsion Technology for cars

21-Year-old David Gonzales II of San Antonio, has developed a novel new idea to propel cars running on internal combustion engines. According to Gonzales, only about 20 percent of all the energy generated by an internal combustion engine actually reach the wheels of the car.

This young man claims he has devised a way to increase that output to about 90 percent, by magnetically propelling the vehicle using magnetic layers fitted inside the wheels of the vehicle. In addition to propelling the vehicle forward, these magnets will also help bring the car to a standstill during braking, and thus eliminate friction during braking. Energy is also recycled and stored during braking, and the system also boasts a transmission that has no moving parts. The Layered MagWheel is able to convert about 90 percent of the energy passing through it to the wheel. This will allow drivers to go several times farther on a gallon of gas.

His invention has earned Gonzales a $100,000 first-place award in the ConocoPhillips Energy Prize competition during October 2008.

SEARCH ENGINES::
search engines maintain their own database of webpage. You can type the keyword to be searched and the search engine returns liink to related web page from database. The database of web pages are maintained by programs called electronic spiders. some examples of search engines are as follows:
* www.google.com* www.altavista.com* www.searchcactus.com* www.infoseek.com* www.excite.com* www.nlseacrh.com* www.alltheweb.com* hotbot.lycos.com

"META -SEARCH ENGINES"
Unlike a search engine,a meta-search engine does not have its own database. Instead, when you submit a keyword in the serach box,a meta-seacrh quickly and superficially visits several individual search engines at once.It does show by transmitting the keywordsimultaneously to various search engines, which search for the keyword in their own databases and return results to the meta-search engines.meta-searsh engine picks up only 10% of the result from any search engine. Each meta-search engine provides its own feature.Examples of meta-search engine are as follows.
*www.profusion.com: Allows you to search on nine search engines and allows you to select among them.It also allow you to select the "top 5" to accomplish your search.
*www.dogpile.com: one of the oldest and favored meta-search engine at a time .It searches 25 search engines. However,it searches only one search engine at a time. It also allows you to set the order engines to search.*www.askjeev.com: search six leading engines and itss own knowledgebase of six million answer.
*www.infind.com: search six engines in parallel and clusters the result after removing duplicate links. it can be configured to search additional engines.
*www.metacrawler.com: searhs nine engines and ranks results based on their relevance.
*www.savvysearch .com: sequentially searches 100 engines. you can select the search engines of your choice and specify the order of the search. you can also store the customized set of search engine for future use.
SUBJECT DIRECTORIES OR VIRTUAL DIRECTORIES
These are the directories maintained by individuals as againts the database that are maintained by electronic spiders in search engines. Individuals review and select sites for inclusion in their directories. The size of a subject drictories is much smaller compared to that of a search engine. These drictories are often orgaized into categories and subcatagoies ,depanding on the information they contian. Subject drictroies can be used for searchs of a more genreal nature and for information on popular topics, organization, commercial sites and products.however ,theymay not cantain the latest information, since they are updated manually.Examples of the subject dirtories are as follows.

WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE:-

Information Technology (IT), as defined by the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA),itis "the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware." IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and securely retrieve information.
Today, the term information technology has ballooned to encompass many aspects of computing and technology, and the term is more recognizable than ever before. The information technology umbrella can be quite large, covering many fields.
IT professionals DUTIES(THE WORK THEY DO):-

IT professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. A few of the duties that IT professionals perform may include data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as the management and administration of entire systems. When computer and communications technologies are combined, the result is information technology, or "infotech". Information Technology (IT) is a general term that describes any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate, and/or disseminate information. Presumably, when speaking of Information Technology (IT) as a whole, it is noted that the use of computers and information are associated

Where does the history of IT begin?

Well, the answer of this question, "one must first understand the basic concept of information technology as a whole".In its most basic form, information technology's aims is to help communication between computers and users. This form of technology can be completed via input, processing, output, and various other communication types. Essentially, the history of IT can be split into four periods:
(1)premechanical

(2) mechanical

(3)electromechanical

(4)electronic

Before we delve into each category, remember that the key word here is "communication."
Prior to any form of mechanics, the very first humans sought to communicate through very simplistic sketches that we now call "petroglyths." For the most part, these drawings were in the form of pictures, and often they depicted daily life. Around the year 3100 B.C. the Sumerians came up with the cuneiform language, and this became the very first type of written language. After the Sumerians, along came the Egyptians with their papyrus plants, and they took communication to a whole new level when they began to use a form of the modern pen with papyrus as a type of paper.

Now, let's skip ahead to the Mechanical Age (1450-1840). Johann Gutenberg invented the first sort of movable metal-type in 1450. After this machine was invented, books began to pop up and the concept of a computer was born. Once this was conceived, there was no stopping civilization and around the end of the 18th century, telecommunication really began to grow stronger. Beginning with the Voltaic Battery and ending with the telephone and the radio, communication was really on a role. Once the computer was invented (many years later), the history of IT took an entirely different sort of path.

The flow of information has changed the way of our living in today world. Into thye other words we can say that "Information is the backbone of every system".
Every morning when we read a newspaper having out so much information we came to know the latest happening in the world , yeah you are right even the internet edition also. This is just a very basic example of IT in our daily life.
All our Railways, Air and even sea travelling networks are connected with the help of IT. The information about these thing we can get into very short time. Even if we have do not have information for one minute it may result into a big disaster. We can take the example of banking. It is very to transact any amount of money from part of the world to other with help of e-commerce. We can purchase anything
online with help of debit and credit cards. This has made our lives more and more simple. Now days if we want to buy to something and are not getting it nearby store then we can simply search for that thing on internet and then order it on the internet. We will get it delivered at our doorstep with just few clicks of mouse.IT is very good friend of human at present time.
Similarly if we want to travel around the world we can book airline tickets online and even book rooms into five star hotels.
People are working on the internet without really having to go outside to their workplace.IT has changed the whole scenario. IT Companies can share there technologies onlineEven the doctors can guide the other doctors while operating on a patient with the help of Information Technology.
A whole new world is coming in front of us by the IT.
Today, almost everyone has some sort of involvement with a computer, though those people who work in this field they can often work many different jobs. Humans have always found a way to effectively communicate (as we have seen), which makes this type of technology one of the oldest trades on the face of the earth.
